Are You Serious About Your Skin Care?

‘Serious skin care’ also means knowing how to use your skin care products. Good practices include things like applying the moisturizers while the skin is damp, using upward strokes for better penetration of skin care products, removing the make up before going to bed, cleansing before moisturising or applying make up, using the correct amount of skin care products, etc. Thus, increasing the effectiveness of your skin care products is another focus area of serious skin care.

Some precautions, like avoiding contact with detergents, are also part of serious skin care. ‘Serious skin care’ means being gentle with your skin. Things like over-exfoliation, use of low quality products, and application of strong-chemical based products, are all harmful to your skin. Some people have a wrong notion about serious skin care. For them serious skin care is - using large quantities of products as often as possible. However, this really isn’t serious skin care (and that’s why awareness is so important).

How to Deal With Infected Pimples

Pimples are formed when the skin pores become clogged with the accumulation of dead skin cells and sebum, fatty material secreted by sebaceous (fatty) glands of the skin. When the infection occurs, the immune system will fight it off and the result are a pimple that is filled with pus, a mix of toxins and other bodily fluid. You have to be careful in dealing with this minor pimple infection, for you don't want it to become too serious. You want to keep if under control, you don't want the infected pimples to become bright red and painful to the touch.

If you want to get rid of these pimples on your face, make sure that they are at the mature stage where they are fully grown, with the big white head out. You don't want to pop those tiny pimples, they may cause more infection later. Before you proceed, make sure to wash your hands properly, have an antiseptic solution (solution containing benzoyl peroxide), gauze and long tipped needle ready. Now flame the needle to sterillize it then prick the pimple slowly to remove all the fluid and use the gauze to absorb the fluid from the pimple. Stop when you see blood coming out of the pimple. Use the benzoyl peroxide solution to clean the area afterwards. If for some reason the pimples have become seriously infected, consult a dermatologist who will prescribe some antibiotic creams to heal the pimples and reduce the formation of scars.
