Can You Really Win The Fight Against Acne?

There are a lot of acne products on the market, some of them good and some of them not as good. A few companies will even hire well known TV personalities to make their products sound truly great and with good marketing techniques may even get you to sign up for a monthly payment. You will be so scared of running out of that so called great acne product, that you’ll sign on the dotted line in an instant. Let me ask you a simple question! How many well known personalities do you know, are currently promoting a skin product? Right away you’ll say, yeah, I know one. If you trust that person, you’ll try and convince yourself that if one of your favorite
actors is promoting a product, it has to be good! Are you winning the fight against acne or are you making the multi million dollar acne business even richer?

There is nothing wrong in buying a product that your favorite actor is promoting. But, the question remained however! Have you taken the time to do a bit of research about the product to see if it is doing what it says it would? Is your acne pimple fading away gradually as you use the product? Is the actual ingredients in the acne product something that you can buy off the counter of your local drugstore for $3.99 but only repackaged under a fancy brand name and sell to you for $29.95 in three installments?

Five Things To Avoid If You Suffer From Acne

1) Stay away from junk food! When you go to your favorite fast food restaurant, order the chicken salad instead of the greasy cheeseburger. I am sure that most fast food restaurants also carry a healthy selection as well.

2) Don't drink pop with your meal! Instead have an apple juice or a glass of water. As a matter of fact, drink six to eight glasses of water a day. That will help clean your system and help clear away your acne.

3) If you notice pimples or small blackheads, by any means do not pop them! Doing that will help them spread to other areas of your face or body.

4) Don’t use oily lotions or oily cosmetics! The oil that they contain can eventually clog your pores and promote acne.

5) If you take medications, try not to take anything that contains iodides or bromides. Some experts suggest that they may trigger some reaction that can promote acne.

Skin Care Tips - Including Acne Skin

skin care is about maintaining a healthy and glowing skin all through your life. As you grow older, your body’s natural skin care mechanisms become weaker. So, serious skin care is about responding to the changing needs of your skin. Thus, serious skin care is about constantly evaluating, analysing and changing your skin care routines. Your skin care routine should change based on the environmental conditions, your age and changes in your skin type and specially if you are an acne sufferer.

‘Skin care tips' is also about awareness. With the technological advancements and research, more and more facts are being brought to light everyday. Also, the composition and nature of skin care products seems to be changing with time. So trying out the new products is also a part of skin care maintenance. However, ‘sking care tips’ advises using a new product over a small patch of skin (not facial skin) first, just to see how your skin reacts to it. People suffering from acne will see great improvement with multiple daily washes with an antibacterial soap or solution.

Scalp Acne - What Does it do?

Scalp acne is caused by certain micro-organism like bacteria, mites etc. The mild form of scalp acne can start on the forehead with small crusty sore developing around the forehead. Since oily hair is a factor in the scalp acne condition, regular washing of the hair with a mild shampoo is very important. If you suffer from mild scalp acne, you can treat the condition with a product containing salicylic acid, which is applied using a Q-tip or cotton ball. Only use the solution on the affected area.

The severe form of scalp acne, is a very serious condition and should be treated only by a dermatologist or a professional doctor. Larger pustules or inflamed blisters, black in color can be seen in the infected area with this severe scalp acne, also called acne necrotica miliaris. Some permanent scarring will result with this severe form of scalp acne, something that looks like chicken pox.

Dealing With Infected Pimples

Pimples are formed when the skin pores become clogged with the accumulation of dead skin cells and sebum, fatty material secreted by sebaceous (fatty) glands of the skin. When the infection occurs, the immune system will fight it off and the result are a pimple that is filled with pus, a mix of toxins and other bodily fluid. You have to be careful in dealing with this minor pimple infection, for you don't want it to become too serious. You want to keep if under control, you don't want the infected pimples to become bright red and painful to the touch.

If you want to get rid of these pimples on your face, make sure that they are at the mature stage where they are fully grown, with the big white head out. You don't want to pop those tiny pimples, they may cause more infection later. Before you proceed, make sure to wash your hands properly, have an antiseptic solution (solution containing benzoyl peroxide), gauze and long tipped needle ready. Now flame the needle to sterillize it then prick the pimple slowly to remove all the fluid and use the gauze to absorb the fluid from the pimple. Stop when you see blood coming out of the pimple. Use the benzoyl peroxide solution to clean the area afterwards. If for some reason the pimples have become seriously infected, consult a dermatologist who will prescribe some antibiotic creams to heal the pimples and reduce the formation of scars from the pimples.

How To Get Rid of Pimples

Some experts agree that pimples are a sign of lack of cleanliness. The first rules you are going to follow is to start washing your face at least two times a day with a natural vegetable glycerin soap or a neutrogena facial soap that contains glycerin and purified water or even just use some warm water with a gentle soap. That way, you keep the skin fresh and clear from all the impurities that would normally gather on your face. It is also good that you wash your face often during the day to get rid of pimples, specially if you are someone with oily skin.

You can also try using some toothepaste on the pimples before going to bed. Leave it overnight and wash it off in the morning using your facial soap. You should expect to see some positive results after a while. If you use facial makeup, always remove them before going to bed. Regular washing of your pillow cases is a good thing to do, since your face is rubbing against them while you sleep. Having clean pillow cases will greatly help reducing skin pimples.

Acne - What is it?

Acne can be anything from blemishes, blackhead, whiteheads and more. A simple reaction to the sudden appearance of an acne on your face is to reach out and pop it. Don't do it! Lest you spread the bacteria around and contaminate the rest of your face and body. If for some reason, you must pop it, make sure to wash your hands clean and have at your disposal some cotton swab with a liquid disinfectant such as dettol and a good anti-bacterial soap to wash your face and the infected area afterwards.

The best way to treat acne is to develop the habit of carefully keeping the affected area clean and bacteria free at all time. Using the anti-bacterial soap, you can proceed to wash your face two to three times a day until you see an improvement. To not try and cover the acne area with makeup! If you do have some makeup on, don't forget to remove it before going to bed and carefully wash your face to remove any excess makeup products. Failure to do so will only result in the products clogging your skin and make acne condition worse.
